The Upsides of Down Syndrome Calendar
Celebrating the beautiful, unexpected, joyful & downright wonderful upsides of Down syndrome.
For more than a decade, I’ve had the incredible honor of photographing the children who make up the Upsides of Down Syndrome Calendar—a special project created to celebrate our Down syndrome community while raising funds for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte. What began as a simple idea has grown into a project that is incredibly close to my heart.
The Upsides calendar is more than just a calendar. It’s a celebration of our kids, our families, and the beautiful community we’ve built together. And because I’ve been photographing many of these children for years, some of the relationships I’ve formed through this project have become incredibly special to me.
What started as a simple idea has grown into something I treasure deeply. Year after year, I get to watch these incredible kids grow, change, discover their personalities, and make memories with their families. The calendar is filled with joyful, colorful, personality-filled images that celebrate each child for exactly who they are.
The calendar is a fundraiser benefiting the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte, helping support programs, resources, education, and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome and their families throughout our community.
Interested in joining us?
If you have a child with Down syndrome who is 18 or younger and would like to learn more about participating in a future Upsides calendar, I’d love to hear from you! There is absolutely no cost to participate. Your child’s calendar session and participation are completely complimentary. After your session, you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase additional images from your gallery if you’d like, but there is never any obligation to purchase anything. I want every family to be able to participate simply for the experience of being part of this special project.
Because the calendar planning page contains information and images involving children in our community, I keep that page private as an added measure of protection for our families. If you’re interested in participating, please complete the interest form.
